while the blue-light-infused dopamine rush is hard to resist

let us choose to show up in crowded rooms instead

amongst the living

flesh & bone, sweat & breath

where voices layer a top one another & conversations are intentional

where the person sitting next to you is not

a number

a means to an end

a political party

let the realness of it all return a shimmer to lifeless eyes

community

it can be, must be

cultivated in the great divide

acknowledge the I

embrace the we

unity is the peoples’ most powerful weapon
