Staying in Motion
Thoughts and poetry on the ever present change in our lives.
Transmutation. Transformation. Transition. Adaptation. Shift. Change.
The power of change is omnipresent in our universe. Our physical bodies are constantly undergoing change when, a lot of times, our inner selves beg for comfort in stagnation. The comfortability of staying right where we are welcomes us with sweet embrace, but who would we be without the force that is change? How could we grow if we never walked towards new opportunities? Our souls would never transcend just as caterpillars would never become butterflies. As I experience this force in my life, I am both terrified and jubilant. Change is scary. Change is beautiful.
Always Present
A new door to open is forever looming
right in front of you.
It is just out of casual reach, but if you put some power behind your stride
and push forward just that last little inch,
you can grasp the handle.
You need not swing the door open with force,
unless that is what you crave.
You can slowly twist the knob, centimeter by centimeter, as you reach a new perspective, a new adventure.
All it takes is that initial inertia towards that door,
that will always be patiently waiting for you.
Accepting
Waves of change engulf you
as you sit on your shores of comfort.
They bring the unknown; an abyss of unforeseen experiences with a rush of excitement.
You begin to get tossed and turned in the opaque water; a darkness that will soon be punctured by the light of joy.
These tidal waves are intimidating, but you know how to hold your breath, and
you know that you will always float back to the surface and land on a shore that is new
and more beautiful.

Please keep 'em coming!
As the saying goes in physics: "A body at rest tends to stay at rest, and a body in motion tends to stay in motion".
Add to that: "He who hesitates is lost."
You nailed it again, gal!
