the ribbon that connects her tailbone 
to the tippy-top of her spine 
is taut 

she faces each day ahead of her 
with a sense of adventure 
& ideas of wonder 

every part of her 
passionately painted life 
has led her to the story she 
is now a character in 

in this story there is magic  
there are myths & fairy tales 
that lurk around the dusk & dawn 
of each day 

they help her to understand 
why the world unfolds around her 
as it does 

she is sensible, but she knows 
imagination, more than logic, 
is the key to comprehension 
when it comes to our exisistence 
our "purpose" 

each night she falls more in love 
with her place in the grand scheme 
as she drifts to sleep 
alone in her bed 
& she dreams of the next chapters
